Mug shot – William Sharp, Account Manager

The Door4 Mug Shot interviews – as much as you can find out about us in the time it takes to drink a brew. Today we have William Sharp, for the second time… He was quite adamant he wanted a re-do of his mugshot (apparently, people change?) So, without further ado, we introduce William… Again!

Name: William Sharp
Role: Account Manager
Started at Door4: April 2018, six years strong!

Want a brew? How do you take it?
Absolutely, preferably first thing in the morning. I’ll take a strong builder’s brew, with one sweetener please!

What do you do at Door4?
For the day-to-day, it’s a lot of acting as the filter between clients and the operational side of the business, functioning as the sword or the shield depending on the day! On the proactive side, it’s about identifying opportunities for our clients, recommending and guiding services that will help them grow and improve in the long term.
In three words: keeping people happy!

How do you see your role at Door4 developing in the future?
It’s already started to happen, but evolving our work in Client Services more towards strategy and future planning beyond simply the day to day requirements.

What’s the best thing about working at Door4?
It’s a cliche, but it’s definitely the people. We have a massively talented and supportive team here who are always ready to chip in and help out. Occasionally agency life can become a real pressure cooker environment and it’s great to know someone’s always got your back. I’m happy to admit I’ve made friends for life through my time at Door4.

Complete this sentence: ‘In another life. I’d have been a …’
Private investigator, without a shadow of a doubt. I love connecting dots, solving puzzles, trying to fathom out a mystery. I’d also have an excuse to wear an awesome overcoat.

What would the title of your autobiography be?
Patrick Stewart already took “Making It So” so I’ll steal “The French Connection” (as my fiancé hails from the land of cheese and wine).

If you were given tomorrow off work, what would you do for the day?
I’d be digging into my mountain of unread books. I’m murder for letting my “to read” pile stack up while Amazon orders turn up with tons more new ones.

Name one thing you’re not very good at outside of the office and one thing you ARE very good at?
I’m a terrible dancer – not that this stops me doing it, to be clear!
I like to think I’m a pretty decent cook, which comes in handy.

If you were a famous boxer, what would be your boxing ring walk song?
I’m not going to overthink this, so the first one that came to mind:
Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea by Fall Out Boy.

At Door4, whose job would you be most scared of doing – why?
Historically I’ve always said the PPC guys, who are borderline magicians. But, the longer I’ve been here, the more I’d lean towards Sean (our MD) who constantly has to juggle about a hundred plates every day running the place, keeping everyone happy and being a massive supportive influence on us all, which is a tough gig and deserves a lot of credit.

Tell us a (clean!) joke.
What’s the worst thing about eating a clock?
It’s time-consuming.

Thanks, Will!
