Elevating a premium furniture brand website with PDP-First design

  • Website Development
  • Website Design
  • Premium brand experience, delivered online
  • Future-proof platform for scalable growth

The Diagnosis

Social Spaces, a design-led furniture brand under DAMS UK, needed its website to reflect a premium positioning ahead of new catalogue and showroom launches.
The existing WooCommerce build was functional but catalogue-style, making it harder for buyers to connect with product features and USPs like sustainability.

The commercial imperative was clear: modernise the digital brand, drive sales with richer product journeys, and create a stable foundation for future marketing activity. Delivery was complicated by client availability during office moves and brochure production, with an evolving scope adding pressure to timelines. The site needed to be reimagined without disrupting backend operations that the business relied on.

The Approach

Door4 took a strategic PDP-first approach, reshaping journeys around detailed product pages, configurators, and content hubs to create a premium brand experience.

We preserved the WooCommerce architecture to minimise disruption while investing in front-end design and interaction that would elevate the brand and support sales. Collaboration was central: interactive workshops, whiteboard sessions, and on-site demos kept stakeholders engaged, while no-code prototypes and video walkthroughs secured timely approvals during busy periods. Where content or direction was missing, we provided placeholders and creative direction to maintain momentum.

The Execution

We delivered a phased, flexible project structure, balancing out-of-scope requests with core delivery.

Key elements included a visual configurator, structured PDPs showcasing USPs, sustainability messaging, and a content hub to replace a basic news feed. Rigorous QA and UAT ensured quality, and supplementary development was provided as goodwill to protect timelines.
The end result was a front-end refresh aligned to new catalogues and showrooms, anchored on six principles: premium branding, PDP-first journeys, configurator integration, sustainability storytelling, cross-device usability, and operational continuity.

The Success Criteria

Success was defined jointly: for Social Spaces, a premium digital presence aligned to catalogue/showroom launches and a clearer buying journey; for Door4, delivering with minimal operational disruption, securing stakeholder engagement, and building a scalable platform for future cycles. Additional wins included stakeholder satisfaction, alignment with brand guidelines, and supplementary features delivered beyond scope.

The Conclusion

The refreshed site positions Social Spaces as a premium provider in a competitive market, streamlining the route to purchase and surfacing USPs to support sales and retention.

By retaining backend stability while upgrading the front end, the business gained faster time-to-value and reduced disruption for internal teams. More importantly, the project established a robust base for Phase II—adding advanced features, personalisation, and paid advertising strategies. Door4’s collaborative model of workshops, prototypes, and delivery created both immediate impact and a clear roadmap for scalable, commercially-driven digital growth.
