Are you Door4 calibre?

Door4 are expanding our Lancashire and Manchester teams, in 2020. Are you a good fit for our business? Do you want to join a progressive, results-driven digital performance agency?

It’s a hard knock life

Life at a digital performance agency is tough! Tough, but rewarding.  Rewarding, and progressive. Progressive, and a constant learning journey.

As one of my former colleagues once said…

“You’ll need to enjoy being busy.  You’ll probably be the busiest person you know!”

And he was absolutely right.  We juggle client accounts, data and reports, insights and new business pushes.  We work with media, content, campaigns, we are constantly deriving insights and presenting ideas, concepts and above all that – strategic thinking that shapes our client businesses.

So here in 2020 (checks date – yes it is!) we’re now looking to expand the Door4 team, as we respond to a growing demand for our services.

In addition, 2019 saw considerable refinement of our agency proposition.  We narrowed our product/market fit – to Reach/Convert/Scale.  We focused our marketing to hit e-commerce/lead-generation businesses – those who NEED digital performance (which meant avoiding vague ‘brochure’ briefs.)  This means that our client base now DEMAND performance and results.  And this is a great thing.  We also have many more opportunities, from high-performance businesses.

We’ve experienced a buoyant start to the year.  2019 was challenging for many in this sector, but the last five months have seen considerable upturn in confidence.  To that end, we’re setting out our stall, to find the very best in digital marketing talent, who are on the lookout for their next challenge.

What roles are available?

We don’t usually go out with ‘job roles’ and look for a square peg for a square hole.  Most of our brilliant team members here at Door4 were hired because of what they’d achieved and their traits – not to fill a vacancy.

And that’s where we are now.  We want to meet amazing people, and explore how they fit into our team for 2020 and 2021.

Some opportunities may come up from April and May 2020, others later in the year.

But go on – what roles do you EXPECT to be available

OK – enough vague answers.

Our business does, and will need more people in these types of roles:

  • Account Executives and Account Managers – managing client relationships, running accounts, and delivering good (and occasionally less good) news to clients
  • Digital Performance Team – search, PPC and social managers, executives and campaign planners
  • Creative Team – designers, content writers, UX and UI specialists
  • Developers – skills across the board, but specifically Magento developers and also WordPress, Shopify and OpenCart.  We’re mainly LAMP focused, but Windows stack devs are always welcome to chat

Finding the right people who slot into our team is more important than the wrong people, of course.

What makes a Door4er (we need a noun for this, suggestions welcome)

For most roles, we’re looking for relevant commercial experience, and a solid understanding of the modern digital landscape.

Personality is crucial.  We’re a pragmatic, business and results first operation – and that’s why our clients like us.  We blend creative, ideas and results – with the emphasis on the latter.

So – if you’re a likeable person, without politics and huffing/puffing then you’re probably a good fit for us.

Our primary office is in Burnley, but we’re building out our Manchester city centre office organically.  So – if you want to work in either Burnley Wharf, or St Peters Square Manchester, then this makes you an even better fit.

OK – now what?

I’m looking to strike up conversations with great people in March/April 2020 – to explore opportunities at Door4.  We will always respond to every personal enquiry.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, to join us on our journey – contact me by email in the first instance.  [email protected]

Agencies: We’re not looking for agencies at this point – don’t call us, we’ll call you.
